This section describes the technical design of the FormsGenerator. The FormsGenerator is XML based and all of the forms are stored within a database. The forms are personalized, but may be shared with other users.

The FormsGenerator is an ASP.NET application written in C# (pronounced C-Sharp). It communicates with the database through ADO.NET. The users have access to the FormsGenerator through the FormsDesigner GUI, where they can design the forms. The GUI uses a lot of DHTML and Javascripting to handle the input from the users. The external applications can connect to the WebService to fetch the forms. The forms are XML documents, and the external applications may render the forms based on their own design.
